Mike
Mike is the genealogist. As a researcher and planner by nature, with a passion for history, genealogy just seemed to fit. Over the last 25 years Mike has helped people from all over the world to discover their family history. He received his post-graduate diploma in genealogy from the renowned University of Strathclyde. And a passion became his profession. Mike is also an experienced coach and trainer.
Allyson
Allyson provides client support. She is hard-wired to help people. After having children, her career in marketing turned to education. She became a lecturer and then moved into supporting students with special educational needs. She is an expert in getting to know people and figuring out what they really want to achieve. As a Welsh speaker she can bring to life your Welsh ancestor's records.
Our Story
It all started about 30 years ago. A lawyer from the US contacted Mike’s family to inform them that an unknown distant cousin had died with no descendants. The “too good to be true” feeling subsided when they produced a huge family tree. And that was it. Mike was bitten by the genealogy bug. Mike then researched family lines for friends and families. This was before the growth in online resources and involved many hours in archives, record offices and churchyards – a fantastic grounding in genealogy skills. Mike continued to grow his knowledge and skills by working with experienced researchers, volunteering and transcribing. He recently completed a post-graduate qualification in Genealogy & Heraldic Studies via Strathclyde University.
